25th October 2018, Shanghai, China: Reducose® (桑多安) was honoured with the “Functional Ingredient Innovation Award” at the New Power China innovation pitching event held at the China Natural Health Industry Conference(CNIC).
CNIC 2018 was co-hosted by China Chamber of Commerce for Import& Export of Medicines & Health Products(CCCMHPIE) , Herbridge Media and Herbalife. As the one of the most important annual conferences for the Health food & Supplement industry, CNIC attracted nearly a thousand of representatives from the health industry, marketing, academia and media sectors.
The New Power China competition, a key annual event of CNIC, selects the best innovations in functional ingredients for the Chinese health industry.
The competition was judged by a group of more than 50 of senior executives from China’s major food and consumer healthcare firms, including Amway, Nu Skin, Nestle, Uni-President, By-Health, Mengniu, Wahaha, Wyeth Pharma, Bright Dairy & Food, and Mead Johnson.
Reducose® (桑多安) is a patented functional ingredient, derived from active compounds found in the mulberry leaf, that transforms foods and drinks with high levels of sugar or high levels of refined carbohydrates into ‘better-for-you’ products. Effectively it lowers the glycaemic index of foods and reduces blood glucose – without affecting the taste of the product, and without manufacturers having to reformulate.
With significant evidence from several clinical trials and the recent granting of food ingredient status from the Chinese Health Department, Reducose® (桑多安) received the highest score amongst all of the entries and a high level of commendation from the judges.
